Monday Night Football brought us a divisional matchup between the Buffalo Bills and the New York Jets. Josh Allen and company dominated the first half. Without James Cook due to injury, rookie Ray Davis took over leading the team in both rushing and receiving. For all intents and purposes, the Jets should have walked away with the win. Just when they had something good going it seemed like they could not help but shoot themselves in the foot. 2 missed field goals in the second half and 11 penalties robbed the Jets of whatever momentum they had. The Bills even missed a field goal and extra point to help keep them in the game. Bills CB Taron Johnson would essentially end the game with a crazy pick off Rogers that would later result in him saying Mike Williams ran the wrong route. Bills win 23-20.
Jets fans were in turmoil until about 10am this morning when the news broke that the Jets had traded a conditional third rounder in exchange for Davante Adams. Adams, who apparently is already in New York, is now reunited with the QB that saw them put together 622 catches for 7,590 yards and 69 touchdowns through 108 games. I think this is an obvious bump in fantasy potential for both Adams and Rodgers. Garrett Wilson will most likely still be productive as the teams number 2 receiver but should see a slight decline in production. I probably won’t be rostering any other receiver outside of those 2.
Whether your whole team is on IR (like mine), you need a BYE week fill in or need a potential flex play, here are my top waiver wire targets heading into week 7.

Waiver Wire Targets:
Isaac Guerendo (Rostered in 0.9% of ESPN leagues)
Jordan Mason has been the go to guy with Christian McCaffrey out of the picture. On Thursday’s win over the Seahawks, Mason went down with a shoulder injury before halftime. He would play one snap to start the second half but was sidelined shortly after. Guerendo was utilized as the lead back after that. The rookie out of Wisconsin and Louisville rushed 10 times for 99 yards, mostly due to a 76 yard run to ice the game. If Mason sits out, Guerendo stands to assume lead back duties.
Alexander Mattison (Rostered in 35.6% of ESPN leagues)
I’ll admit, I was a Zamir White truther. That has not panned out so far in Las Vegas. While White is getting the most carries, he has not been efficient with those opportunities or productive from a fantasy perspective. Mattison might not have as high of a usage, but he makes up for it with his usage in the passing game and red zone usage. He leads Raiders running backs with 46.2% of red zone rush attempts. It is hard to trust the Raiders offense but Mattison present as a fill in option if you like to gamble and has more value if White continues to miss time with a groin injury.
Tyrone Tracy (Rostered in 44.9% of ESPN leagues)
Tracy has had 2 productive weeks while starter Devin Singletary has been sidelined with an injury. Tracy is making a name for himself and his performance may have earned him more work should Singletary come back. Averaging 5+ yards a carry as a starter compared to Singletary’s 3.9 is hard to ignore. This feels similar to the situation down in Tampa with White and Irving. Add Tracy in the hopes he earns more work and seizes the starting job or at the very least, have a high quality back up if Singletary misses more time.
Josh Downs (Rostered in 49.1% of ESPN leagues)
Josh Downs has been nothing short of fantastic these last 3 weeks. He is averaging 19.2 fantasy points a game and averaging 10 targets a game. A PPR dream. I think a lot of this can be attributed to Joe Flaco taking control of the offense with Anthony Richardson sidelined with an injury. Personally, I like Downs over Alec Pierce who is a bit more boom or bust. Things may change a bit with AR back at the helm against the Dolphins but it is hard to ignore talent.
Demario Douglas (Rostered in 21% of ESPN leagues)
Douglas was one of my favorite players last year. He has a propensity to get open which leads to a lot of targets. I have been hesitant to invest in many of the Patriots offensive players this year but am starting to warm up to it now that Drake Maye is taking over. Against the Texans, he had 92 yards and a touchdown bringing in 6 of 9 targets. Maye has his own entry below but Douglas stands to have a productive week against a terrible Jaguars defense in a new loo offense not many have tape on.
Bub Means (Rostered in 0.1% of ESPN leagues)
Who? That is the question this week on who will be catching passes from Spencer Rattler this Thursday against the Broncos. Chris Olave is out with a concussion and Rashid Shaheed is still TBD with a knee injury. Against the Bucs, Means saw 8 targets bringing in 5 of those for 45 yards and a touchdown. While the Broncos defense is no joke and Spencer Rattler is still unproven, Means could be a sneaky flex play for those truly desperate for a wide receiver this week. Proceed with caution.
Cade Otton (Rostered in 24% of ESPN leagues) Genius Pick of the Week
Welcome back Cade Otton. Against the Saints, Otton saw 6 targets. While only bringing in 2 of those for 15 yards, he snagged one of Baker Mayfields 4 touchdowns. Next up is a matchup against the red hot Ravens. The positive? They rank top 5 in most fantasy points allowed to tight ends. Otton is a great streaming option in week 7 and a potential weekly play if the Bucs continue to play the way they have.
Andy Dalton (Rostered in 6.1% of ESPN leagues)
Remember when Dalton threw for 300+ yards and 3 touchdowns against the Raiders and we all thought the Panthers were back on track? Yeah… me too. Man what a week. Dalton and company face off against a Commander’s team that has a pretty vulnerable defense that just lost star DT Jonathan Allen to a potential season ending pectoral injury and saw DE Dorrance Armstrong exit the game early. The pieces are in place for Dalton to have a strong day. Consider starting Dalton this week if in need of a QB.
Drake Maye (Rostered in 3.8% of ESPN leagues)
The rookie QB had an interesting start to his career. In a 20 point loss to the Texans, Maye showed some promise throwing for 243 yards and 3 touchdowns including an absolute dime to Kayshon Boutte. With that being said, he also had some rough points throwing for 2 interceptions. This Patriots team has some offensive weapons, just no offensive line. I like Maye against a Jags defense that is letting everyone and their mother through. Also helps there is not much tape on the guy. I think Maye can have some fantasy relevance in week 7.
Caleb Williams (Rostered in 50.1% of ESPN leagues)
The Bears are on a BYE but Williams presents as a BYE week steal on waivers. After their time off, the Bears play 3 absolutely terrible defenses. The Commanders, Cardinals and Patriots. Stash Williams in hopes that he balls out after the BYE week.
