Waiver Wire Targets
Blake Corum (Rostered in 29.7% of ESPN leagues)
For WEEKS i’ve been saying to roster Corum. The man is a top tier RB handcuff and is seeing actual work down the stretch. Most of it stems from his goal line opportunities since his rushing attempts are hindered by the presence of Kyren Williams. If you feel bold enough to play him in your flex, I don’t have any issue with that. It often helps to ride the hot hand. A tough matchup against the Seahawks in week 16 could slow him down but at the very least he should be on your bench.
Michael Carter (Rostered in 9.1% of ESPN leagues)
The Cardinals backfield continues to be one of the wildest rides in football. First they lose James Connor to a season ending injury. Then they roll out Trey Benson who has success but then goes down with an injury that was only supposed to last 4 weeks but now it looks like he will never be activated. Will stay mad about that one for a long time. Let’s also not forget Demercado and his career fumble. Now we have Michael Carter and Bam Knight leading the backfield, the latter of which left Sunday’s game with an ankle injury. Michael Carter is the last man standing and has been productive when given the opportunity. Next up is a matchup against the Falcons with neither team playing for anything but draft position. With the injuries to RBs across the league, take a swing on Carter and his workload against the Falcons.
Jawhar Jordan (Rostered in 0% of ESPN leagues)
Raise your hand if you had no idea who Jawhar Johnson was prior to Sunday afternoon. I’ll say it, I’ve got my hand up. Drafted in the 6th round of the 2024 NFL draft out of Louisville, Jordan has spent most of his time on and off the Texans practice squad. Against the Cardinals, Jordan got his chance as Nick Chubb was already inactive and Woody Marks sustained an ankle injury early on. In their stead, Jordan put up 101 yards on 15 attempts. He also brought in a pair of catches for an additional 17 yards. It’s hard to say a guy who has seen virtually no playing time in the NFL will be able to produce again, however, the Texans RB room is desolate and their next matchup is against the Raiders which bodes well for Jordan. Keep an eye on Marks throughout the week but if he sits out Jawhar Jordan has flex appeal.
Jalen Coker (Rostered in 3.5% of ESPN leagues)
Where are all my Coke heads? As a Panthers fan, I’ll be up front and say I may be a bit biased this week by recommending Coker. However, there is evidence to suggest Coker could be worth playing in week 16. Averaging around 4 targets this year, it feels like Coker is one of the go to guys Bryce looks to in crucial moments. He is also pretty ingrained as the Panthers wide receiver 3. Also, if you aren’t tuned into the drama that is the NFC South, this upcoming game is huge for both teams. I expect this one to be high scoring. Coker is a flex play for me this week.
Colby Parkinson (Rostered in 10.5% of ESPN leagues) Genius Pick of the Week
Parkinson has been an absolute dawg for fantasy managers these past 5 weeks. While mostly touchdown dependent, he has also been getting a fair amount of targets. Since week 10, he has seen at least 4 targets all but once and has eclipsed double digit fantasy points four times. Now that Davante Adams is dealing with a hamstring injury, Parkinson is in line to take on a little more work against a stout Seahawks defense which is actually pretty favorable to tight ends! I’d feel comfortable starting him in week 16.
Theo Johnson (Rostered in 46.9% of ESPN leagues)
Johnson has been a semi steady presence for fantasy managers as his current TE13 status suggests. The Giants themselves are playing for nothing but a higher draft pick at this point as well as the Vikings but Johnson should still be involved as a younger player. He also seems to have an established connection with Jaxson Dart. Knocking on the door of a top 10 TE, Johnson could be a serviceable start in week 16.
Jacoby Brissett (Rostered in 44.1% of ESPN leagues)
This guy has been a matchup proof fantasy QB ever since he took over the starting job in Arizona. Would you believe it if I said that since week 9 he has been a top 5 fantasy QB? A vulnerable Falcons team is up next and I don’t think Brissett’s production is stopping. There’s no reason Brissett isn’t a startable option in week 13.
Marcus Mariota (Rostered in 18.7% of ESPN leagues)
I havn’t been the highest on Mariota this year as a waiver wire target. However, I’m leaning into it a bit more this week and think he could have a decent outing. At this point you should kind of know what to expect. He’s probably going to throw for 200ish yards and probably throw a pick at some point but toss a touchdown or two as well. He’s also going to be running a little bit. The Eagles themselves are more vulnerable than their talent level suggests which leaves the door open for Mariota to produce.
