Waiver Wire Targets
Blake Corum (Rostered in 12.6% of ESPN leagues
Already one of the top rated handcuff options in the NFL, Blake Corum had some time to shine after Kyren Williams left Sunday’s game against the Panthers with a leg injury. While Williams was able to return, Corum still left his mark picking up 81 yards and a touchdown on 7 carries. That was good for a nice 14.1 fantasy points. With the fantasy playoffs right around the corner, the name of the game is depth. Should anything happen to Williams, Corum would be the RB1 in this offense. Corum is a top handcuff add if you don’t have him rostered already.
Tyler Allgeier (Rostered in 32.9% of ESPN leagues)
I’ve called out a few times in recent weeks the value of Allgeier as a handcuff option and even his potential ability to be a desperation flex play. On the year he has 4 double digit fantasy point outings and has scored 8 touchdowns. Pretty solid for a guy in the same offense as Bijan Robinson. People quickly forget this guy was a 1,000 yard rusher before Robinson came to town. Allgeier needs to be on rosters especially with the fantasy playoffs ahead.
Chris Rodriguez (Rostered in 12.4% of ESPN leagues)
I’ll keep this one short and sweet. Rodriguez seems to be the number 1 RB in this offense. In 3 of the last 4 weeks he has seen double digit touches. He is also getting more opportunities than fantasy darling Jacory Croskey-Merritt. Still available in most leagues, go get you an RB1 that has a fairly easy schedule the rest of the way.
Devin Neal (Rostered in 41.3% of ESPN leagues)
Against the Dolphins, Neal saw double digit rushing attempts (14) and put up 47 yards on the ground and brought in 3 catches 22 yards. While these numbers don’t pop, they are serviceable. It’s worth noting the Dolphins defense put up a great fight as well. With Alvin Kamara still out, Neal should still be the number one RB against the Bucs. These divisional games often have a penchant for producing points regardless of team record. Neal Still serves as an ok start option should you need help at the RB position this week.
John Metchie (Rostered in 10.1% of ESPN leagues)
Last week I listed Metchie as a nice flex option due to his involvement in the Jets offense with Garrett Wilson being on IR. While he didn’t put up the numbers I thought he might, the potential is still there. Metchie saw a season high 8 targets but was only able to capitalize on 4 of them for 19 yards in a game I swear both teams were trying to lose. I’m not out yet though. Next up is a soft matchup against a Dolphins team with a lot to prove.
Alec Pierce (Rostered in 53.8% of ESPN leagues)
Rostered in just over half of ESPN leagues, there’s a chance you can snag Alec Pierce this week. If you can, you should. This guy has been electric for the Colts this year and it has translated to fantasy points. It is worth noting the Colts have an absolute gauntlet to end the year. However, this offense has other big time players in Michael Pittman and Jonathan Taylor that should leave enough room for Pierce to operate effectively. We saw that on Sunday against a tough Texans defense where Pierce put up 78 yards and a touchdown on 5 targets.
Brenton Strange (Rostered in 22% of ESPN leagues) Genius Pick of the Week
Since his return in week 12, Brenton strange has been great for those fantasy managers willing to play him. Against the Titans, Strange recorded 3 catches on 4 targets for 45 yards and a touchdown. His first of the year! Say what you want about Trevor Lawrence but the Jaguars offense is finding its rhythm without its main pass catcher producing (I’m looking at you BTJ). Another thing that I like about Strange is his involvement in the offense. Strange played 71% of the offensive snaps in week 12 and 84% of the offensive snaps in week 13. That kind of involvement is fantastic. I liked him as a start against the Titans and I like him as a start in week 14 against the Colts who will be without CB Sauce Gardner.
Jacoby Brissett (Rostered in 50.3% of ESPN leagues)
Just slightly above my 50% rostership cutoff, Brissett has been an odd ball fantasy player that continues to put up points regardless of the situation. Tough defenses, top players out with injury, it hasn’t mattered. Now the next 2 matchups against the Rams and Texans present tough challenges but both have fallen to less than big name QBs. What I really like is that in weeks 16 and 17 Brissett is primed for production just as most fantasy playoffs are coming to a close.
Here’s what I had to say last week:
For some reason Jacoby Brissett has been able to sustain some sort of fantasy relevance which is so strange when compared to the outings Kyler Murray put together this year. With my luck, this will be the week he tanks but lets not worry about that. The Bucs offer a juicy matchup this week, especially if Baker is unable to suit up. The defense is currently in the bottom half of the league and is allowing an average of 25.8 points per game. For an offense with capable weapons, that should be a fairly easy matchup. Look to Brissett to be a startable option in week 13.
